Scirocco
Transumanze series
Oliveri, Messsina (Italy) 2020
The portrait of a fisherman from Oliveri, a Sicilian village that long ago lived of local fishing and the tradition of the Tonnara, the famous tuna fishing. Now in Oliveri the fishermen are few, they disappear, with the faces burned by the wind, but if you are a fisherman, you know the winds of the ancient ones, and you know that the scirocco lasts only 3 days. Here instead it seems to have stopped and everything burns, the sea, the hopes, the economy, nature.
Mural intervention at Emergence festival, with the support of the municipality of Oliveri.
Thanks to the fisherman who posed for me, Girolamo.

Libera
empatia series
Marseille (France) 2020
Libera is a murals created in 2020 in a deconsecrated monastery in Marseille. The nuns “soeurs Victimes du sacré coeur de Jésu” lived inside the monastery since 1843. The nuns led a cloistered life and had taken a vow of silence. The mural that blends with the architecture; the arches, the windows, the floor suggest a place full of silence, and this painting contrasts with the place. iI is a tribute to freedom, a scream, a cry, stifled by the painting itself. When we give vent to our emotions, they are no longer scary.

A method belonging to the ancient processing of wheat, a rain of wheat falls into the sieve and separates the larger seeds from the smaller ones, a couple works together, they collaborate for their sustenance, this method has now disappeared that there remains only a memory or a stain in our memories, but the trace is still the present, it is up to us to follow it, look at it or forget it.

Algues Vertes
Morlaix (France) 2021
This story begins a long time ago, in the French postwar period, where there was no food, and in the countryside of Brittany, farmers were given the task of “feeding” France. This story continues with the agricultural uprisings of the 60s with farmers who were unable to go on with the low prices of the market. This story continues with the arrival of intensive agricultural practices, then it reaches the sea, turns green and passes through the pages of a comics BD. Sometimes it is censored and sometimes changed, the story of green algaes in Brittany is a story that I can’t lived, but I heard a lot about it during my stay in Morlaix, so I decided to represent a man who binds wheat , with his hands, under the sun, with his straw hat. It’s a memento to my Breton friends, to remind us that slowness and simplicity are still part of our nature.

“Scent of magnolia sweet and fresh Then the sudden smell of burning flesh” (Billie Holiday)
Magnolia is an intelligent child who always laughs, a smile that escapes in this painting, difficult to grasp, like the child inside us. The owner of the wall told me that this image helps to look forward. throws us out of this bad period full of darkness, a period where not everyone smiles and someone hasn’t done so for a long time

Tempo
transumanze series
Montalbano Elicona, Messina, (Italy) 2021
Stories of shepherds… In Montalbano, named one of the most beautiful old villages in Italy, there are shepherds who live off their passion, passion for the land and animals, but this is not enough to allow them to live, the prices of the products of the big chains always fall more, and products made with passion and a lot of time no longer have value.
This is a tribute to the shepherds and to the people of this place that hosted me during the summer of 2021, a magical and good place. Thank you.
Murals interventions for the residency curated by Giuseppe Stagnitta, with support of the association Giovan Guerino and municipality of Montalbano Elicona.

Šipak
Mostar (Bosnia-Erzegovina) 2021
The pomegranate , symbol of Bosnia-Herzegovina, formed by many seeds, the whole of each individual that forms a community, this community now divided: war, religions, politics. The hands of a young generation hold the fruit in their hands to show it, to reunite it, because after all we are seeds of the same plant.

In Mostar, on the walls drilled by the blows, inside the holes made by the grenades, a new fruit is growing, sweet, unique, warm, made up of many small seeds. Young, new, fresh, growing strong, and different from all over the world. Because they don’t know what fear is, they don’t hear its sound, their laughter and their parties have covered those sounds. The shots, the explosions, are dominated by their laughter, by the desire to be together all from, east to west, all the same all together.

In October 2021 I had the pleasure of staying in Mostar, a city near Sarajevo, in Bosnia-Herzegovina. The SAFM team organized my artistic residency called Equilibrio. I was with my partner @giniusa_ she filmed the project and she helps me to discover this place. I will not say that it was easy, because during this residency unpleasant things have happened about my personal life and my health. But the encounters made and the things I have known here, have made me appreciate this experience, the people of this land, and even more my work, my life. Hello Mostar.
