Palermo (Italy) 2019
At the neighborhood of Palermo, Danisinni, I painted this pastoral scene that represents the return home from a day’s work in the fields. The dependence, a thread that unites them. Danisinni is a neighborhood of Palermo, connected to the city by a single street, the same both to enter and to exit. The neighborhood is not served by public transport and the only school has been closed due to unsuitability. The people who live here are mostly fruit and vegetable vendors, and farmers, once everyone had a donkey at home, and everyone knew each other. Thanks a the people of Neighborhood Danisinni in Palermo, and The team of Museo sociale Danisinni, Mauro Filippi and Fra Mauro” for supporting this project.

Delia (Italy) 2019
Delia is a small municipality with a strong agricultural component Handcart full of straw in honor of a farming community. The cyclical nature of the seasons, the earth that rests after the harvest, the turning of a wheel, like a life, full of nourishment.

San Marco D’alunzio (Italy) 2019
Grandpa weaves a chair made of wires, so many threads. All together they will be able to support it and resist over time. Close to each other, close neighbors, family members fill life, the community. Someone leaves others stay, but the chair, thanks to its weaves, manages to bear the weight of life. In San Marco D’Alunzio, a small ancient village in the Natural Park of Nebrodi (Messina, Italy) , an average of 5 children are born a year, families huddle, empty chairs at the Sunday table increase, those who leave to return, those who do not exist, those who return for nostalgia, those who remain to resist.

A hand grabs and shows a squid. The tentacles of the squid mix with the hands of the man, who grabs and takes everything he can from the sea, leaving no chance for the natural cycle of life, destined, so, to disappear.
Thanks a lot to the people of Patti in Sicily. The team of “association M.u.r.” for supporting this project, and making our residence truly special.

Graniti (Italy) 2019
Very few artisans and lumberjacks work and cut wood by hand, following long work rhythms, where a created object is destined to last for many decades. These have now been replaced by the big names of industrial furniture manufacturers and by machines that clear forests. “U Scannu” is a typical sicilian seat. The work is a praise to the ancient work, done entirely by hand, ready to last over time, but which the evolution of society is making disappear.
Thanks a lot to the team of “graniti murales” for supporting this project.

Brignoles (France) 2019
I made this mural in the ancient area of Brignole, a village in the south of France, during the national architects’ day by integrating the painting with the texture of the wall, to pay homage to old buildings and more natural ways of building, with stones and dust. A shepherd leads his flock up the hill, a community made up of individuals, the man and his flock disappear covered by all the houses.
